How We Work
We like to keep things simple and friendly. You call, we listen, we take a look, talk through options, and do the work properly. Here's what to expect.
The four steps
Give us a call
Tell us what you'd like done or what's gone wrong. We'll ask a few friendly questions and figure out the next step together.
We take a look
We check the panel, the circuits and the space, and listen to what you're planning.
We talk it through
You get clear options in plain English, so you can choose what works for your home.
We do it properly
Work to current code with permits handled, tested before we leave, and the area left tidy.
What we'll ask when you call
A minute on the phone saves time on site. Expect us to ask about:
- What's happening, or what you're hoping to add
- Whether anything smells hot or has sparked
- Your panel size if you know it
- Any plans for an EV, heat pump, ADU or remodel
- Your address in Santa Cruz or nearby
What we won't do
- Quote a fix before we've seen the problem
- Replace a breaker with a bigger one to stop it tripping
- Start work before you understand what it involves
- Skip the permit on work that requires one
- Leave without testing and tidying up
Why the assessment matters
Most electrical symptoms have more than one possible cause. A breaker that trips could be an overload, a short, a ground fault or a breaker that has simply worn out, and each needs a different fix. Guessing means swapping parts until something works, which costs you money and leaves the real cause in place. A careful assessment helps identify the appropriate repair, which is why every Electrician's Precision Pros job starts with an assessment of the panel, the circuit and the wiring behind the symptom.
Permits and inspections
Permit and inspection requirements depend on the project and local authority. When discussing electrical work in Santa Cruz, ask which approvals apply, who will obtain them and what documentation will be provided. Confirm these details before the work begins.
